Participate in National School Choice Week

National School Choice Week (NSCW) is a nonprofit that hosts thousands of events all across the country each year throughout the last week of January.

Schools and nonprofits host rallies at their schools or at their state capitol to highlight the success of school choice across the country.

Most events are large student rallies that feature student performances although any number of types of events are possible.

The MORE Network partners with NSCW to put on a rally in the rotunda of the state capitol with typically over 600 students representing 15-20 private schools.

We would love for your school to join! If you can’t make it to the capitol you can host your own event at your school. Either way we’re here to help.

Step-by-Step guide:

  1. Let us know at least eight weeks in advance if you plan to participate.

  2. Student performances are welcomed but not required. If you are interested in having your students perform, it’s first come first serve so let us know when you sign up to participate in the rally.

  3. Group size recommendation 10-50 students. Parents are welcome!

  4. Plan for your students to meet with their legislators before or after the rally.

  5. Make a list of elected officials to invite to the rally or meet with based on where your families reside and your school address. Consider having your students help! You can look up your state elected officials at www.more-network.org/legislators.

  6. After the event make sure to thank legislators with a personalized card from your school. It makes a great student project!

  7. You will be reimbursed for transportation to the rally by submitting a receipt after the event.

  8. You are responsible for bringing lunches.
